Develops and implements methods for monitoring performance of work groups. Reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified departmental objectives and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives. Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares budget, using computer. Prepares reports and records on department activities for upper management, using computer. May initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer. Conducts regular staff meetings to inform subordinates of organizational developments and to be appraised on current status of projects. May recruit, hire, and train department staff, evaluate staff performance, and develop goals and objectives for staff.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience required. Strong managerial skills.
  • Previous managerial experience and knowledge of AE budgeting, policies, and procedures desired. Familiarity with numerous functional areas.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and PC skills.
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibility. Excellent analytical, organization, and planning skills.
  • Must pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check. When applicable, may be required to work nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
  • If applicable, pass U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated drug testing requirements, including verification with previous employers regarding DOT drug and alcohol violations and/or refusal to test. Applicants are required to fill out “Department of Transportation Testing Inquiry” form which provides authorization for release of records from previous employers.
  • Must possess an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • At least 5 years in a Managerial Role at a Part 121 Operator or equivalent MRO facility
  • Ability to have flexible schedule supporting a 365 day operation.
  • Familiarized with applicable FARs.
  • Experience practicing progressive discipline.
  • Able to read and understand wiring diagrams.
  • Able to read and understand Structural Repair Manuals.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • BS in a Business related discipline or equivalent work related experience
  • Experience working in an MRO environment

Responsibilities

  • Interaction and participation with the City of ABI for base initiatives
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director to establish a clear overall strategy for the Abilene MRO facility.
  • Plan, communicate and implement all maintenance programs required for the customers fleet in a manner consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Establish and control technical safety and airworthiness standards for the facility to ensure the related maintenance test equipment and facilities, are in conformance with best practices and with the requirements set by the FAA.
  • Must understand and maintain the requirements and associated FAR's to maintain the FAA Part 145 certification.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of results and other special projects and initiatives under his or her direction.
  • Regularly identify, evaluate, and implement ways to improve aircraft reliability, cycle time, quality control and cost.
  • Serve as the key catalyst for introducing efficient thinking, approaches, practices, processes, tools and systems into activities.
  • Ensure strict and timely compliance with all regulatory requirements, as well as Envoy Air policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the integrity of the technical records.
  • Ensure the safety and security of operations, in keeping with company policies and regulatory obligations.
  • In conjunction with finance, develop and manage against an operating and capital budget for the function.
  • Manage relationships with major OEM and MRO providers, maintaining a close and effective liaison with manufacturer and repair facility representatives.
  • Represent both internally and externally to the global maintenance, repair and overhaul industry.
