About The Position

The Director of Enterprise Sustaining Capital Portfolio at Newmont Mining is responsible for leading the company's sustaining capital delivery strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and operational goals. This role involves overseeing the execution of sustaining capital projects, implementing best practices, and managing a global portfolio across various regions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MEng) or relevant professional certifications (PMP, PMI) preferred.
  • Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proven track record in senior project management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile).
  • Familiarity with mining industry-specific regulations and sustainability trends.
  • Ability to construct relationships between several systems and manage them effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in delivering projects and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Newmont's sustaining capital delivery strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and operational goals.
  • Design sophisticated sustaining capital project delivery strategies based on project portfolio objectives and market dynamics.
  • Evaluate exposure to risk to maximize positive impacts and mitigate negative impacts on the sustaining capital portfolio.
  • Build governance and assurance processes to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate sustaining capital project delivery teams across different regions, including Australia, Africa, and the Americas.
  • Drive the implementation of best practices and standardization across the portfolio for high-quality project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with site Operations leadership to manage a global portfolio of sustaining capital projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution and reduce costs.
  • Implement and maintain best-in-class capital planning tools and project management systems.
  • Provide enterprise-level reporting to senior leadership, including key performance indicators and project status updates.
