Position Purpose The Director of Enterprise Planning & Business Analytics is a senior leader within the Bassett Transformation Office (BTO) responsible for building and scaling Bassett’s enterprise planning, analytics, and execution cadence. This role owns and integrates work historically associated with LEAN, Continuous Improvement, Road Shows, and Kaizen, while also leading enterprise project delivery standards for Corporate and Local Hoshins and major software and process implementations. The role establishes the foundation of driver-based planning and analysis, translating operational realities into forward-looking insights that inform leadership decision-making. In partnership with Finance, this position builds and maintains a rolling operating and financial forecast, ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience across enterprise planning, FP&A-style analysis, business analytics, CI/Lean, and/or project delivery.
  • Strong finance literacy, including forecasting, variance analysis, and business case modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience building driver-based forecasts and translating operational data into decision-ready insights.
  • Proven leadership in project portfolio management, governance, and cross-functional execution.
  • Experience leading Lean / CI efforts (Kaizen, Road Shows, process redesign, sustainment).
  • Strong executive communication skills; able to influence without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, or industrial services preferred; ERP experience (e.g., Vista by Viewpoint) a plus.
  • PMP or equivalent project management credential preferred; familiarity with Hoshin planning a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a recurring enterprise planning cadence (monthly/quarterly) integrating key operational drivers (pipeline, backlog, labor capacity, productivity, margins, and major initiatives).
  • Build and maintain a driver-based operating forecast that feeds a rolling financial forecast in partnership with Finance.
  • Lead variance and trend analysis (actuals vs. plan/forecast) and translate insights into clear actions, owners, and decisions.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity models to support decisions on growth, staffing, pricing, capital, and strategic tradeoffs.
  • Standardize planning assumptions, definitions, and templates to improve forecast discipline and leadership trust.
  • Own the enterprise CI pipeline, including opportunity identification, prioritization, execution, and sustainment.
  • Lead Road Shows and Kaizen-style events, ensuring problems are clearly scoped and benefits are measurable and sustained.
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive adoption, remove barriers, and reinforce standard work.
  • Produce a recurring CI benefits summary (hours saved, cycle time reduction, quality improvements, cost avoidance).
  • Lead enterprise delivery standards for Corporate and Local Hoshins, including intake, governance, milestone tracking, and benefits realization.
  • Direct and support the Enterprise Project Manager in executing enterprise initiatives, including software and process implementations.
  • Establish and enforce project discipline (scope, ownership, timelines, risk management, and adoption readiness).
  • Ensure implementations include process mapping, change management, training coordination, and outcome measurement.
  • Create an executive-ready analytics rhythm focused on insight and action, not reporting volume.
  • Define and maintain a focused set of trusted enterprise KPIs aligned to operational and financial performance.
  • Partner with leaders to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions with accountability.
  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable direct reports across analytics and enterprise delivery.
  • Act as an internal consultant to business leaders on planning, prioritization, and execution.
  • Communicate clearly at all levels, including executive summaries and facilitation of working sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
