The Director of Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance will be a strategic leader who responsible for defining and executing the organization's enterprise-wide data strategy. This leader will ensure that data is structured, governed, and leveraged as a strategic asset-enabling analytics, AI, regulatory compliance, and business value creation across all functions. This role provides strategic leadership and vision by driving the enterprise data strategy to enable business outcomes, digital transformation, AI adoption, and innovation, while partnering with business and technology leaders to align data initiatives with organizational priorities and value creation opportunities. The leader champions a data-driven culture by promoting literacy, accountability, and data ethics across the organization. In overseeing data governance and compliance, this individual leads the development and enforcement of a comprehensive governance framework encompassing policies, standards, and stewardship roles, ensuring adherence to privacy, regulatory, and security requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and SOX. They manage data access, risk mitigation, and audit readiness to maintain trust and compliance. Collaborating with IT and architecture teams, the role defines the enterprise data architecture, including data models, metadata, and master data management, guiding integration across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments while evaluating and implementing advanced data management tools and platforms. A key responsibility involves ensuring data quality and stewardship by defining metrics, overseeing remediation for critical data elements, and fostering stewardship programs that drive accountability and continuous improvement in data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The leader also drives the creation of reusable, trusted data products and APIs to enable analytics, AI, and self-service use cases, partnering with analytics and AI teams to ensure data readiness for model development and decision intelligence while governing metadata, lineage, and documentation to ensure transparency and reusability. Additionally, the role establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data strategy, reporting progress and value delivered to executive stakeholders. Finally, as a cultural leader, this person builds and leads a cross-functional data governance council and steward community while developing enterprise-wide data literacy programs to elevate skills and foster a culture of responsible, data-driven decision-making.
