About The Position

As Data Science Director at Gartner, you'll lead the development of innovative AI models and machine learning solutions that drive strategic business outcomes. You'll build and mentor a talented team of data scientists while establishing technical standards and best practices. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional communication skills to translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Management, or related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, AI, data governance, or similar roles, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex data science and AI projects in business environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of AI ethics, risk management, and industry compliance, including experience implementing best practices for transparency and accountability in AI.
  • Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and experience with platforms that support model management and enrichment.
  • Deep understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI tools and technologies, including large language models and their business applications.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management abilities and proven success in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and demonstrated excellence in people management and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable Data Science & AI models to elevate the quality and depth of Gartner’s data assets, ensuring high accuracy, reliability, and completeness.
  • Create predictive & optimization models to drive measurable business value.
  • Establish and maintain data science best practices, methodologies and quality standards.
  • Translate analytical insights into strategic, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists, fostering both technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Drive project execution through effective management of direct reports and coordination of cross-functional project teams.
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify and prioritize high-impact data science & AI initiatives that advance Gartner’s strategic objectives.
  • Deliver compelling presentation of analytical findings to secure stakeholder buy-in and drive organizational adoption.
