ROLE SUMMARY The Director, Enterprise Architect is responsible for directly overseeing and organizing Pfizer initiatives for the PGS domain. As an individual contributor, your primary impact is through your direct work. You are a widely recognized expert in your technical domain able to articulate clearly to a deep technical level and you are comfortable understanding the business direction with input from business leadership. This role reports to the Sr. Director Enterprise Architecture Role which is responsible for the PGS domain. This role is accountable to deliver Enterprise Architecture Outcomes including creation of detailed Solution Sketches, City Plans, and Solution Architecture Diagrams as necessary. Works on a variety of strategic initiatives within area of remit, leading complex projects within a business unit – providing technical and strategic context. Advise Senior leadership on both technical constraints and the business constraints – telling the common narrative of how those things interact with one another. Be the trusted voice for the enterprise as it relates to technical architecture. Contribute to business fit and focus of key initiatives. Collaborate with enterprise architect peers to identify reusable reference patterns to accelerate delivery and reduce technical debt Service Delivery: Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services; acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. Directs and proposes Enterprise Architecture fit for new and existing technical components. Understands customers’ operational needs and helps to drive strategic direction. Anticipates internal/external business and regulatory/compliance issues that impact the system design. Strategy & Planning: Uses innovative business thinking to challenge the status quo and drive identification, quantification and proposal of business solutions. Leads proactive initiatives to drive Enterprise Architecture Strategy directly or at the direction of EA Leadership Architecture: Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the targeted business outcomes. Accountable for the formulation of solution implementation approach, building consensus on approach, and providing technical execution oversight of such solutions. Influences management/senior staff decisions via focused innovation engineering exercises and proof-based experimentation. Knowledgeable about the regulatory constraints of leveraging cloud solutions in the healthcare industry with input from others. Understands modern cloud architecture best practices and is well-versed in Amazon Web Services-based architecture. Communication: Develops a deep understanding of the PGS business process and identifies opportunities to streamline and increase productivity using digital tools. Develops and sustains constructive partnerships between business and technical stakeholders to ensure success of projects. Can write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles, at all levels of the organization; can get messages across that have the desired effect. Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication across the portfolio; prepares and delivers regular updates on project status, both in written and presentation format, to sponsors, business leaders and stakeholder groups.
