About The Position
Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV. As we settle into 2025, Welty Energy is looking for a Director of Engineering to join our team! The Director, Engineering leads and oversees all aspects of Welty Energy’s power delivery engineering group, which provides engineering and estimating services for electric utilities across Welty’s target geographic footprint. This position is integral in guiding our substation, transmission, and distribution engineering team, ensuring high-quality deliverables, fostering strong client relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company while overseeing the financial health of the engineering department. As part of Welty Energy’s Leadership Team, the Director, Engineering will advance our efforts to become the best customer centric professional services consulting firm for electric utilities in our target geographic region through client relationships, staff engagement, and process improvement. In this position, the successful applicant will work collaboratively with the leadership team and also an engineering team that is experiencing steady growth. The Director will also work directly with utility companies, all the while developing your own career. While this position can be remote/hybrid the role is based in Chicago, Akron, Pittsburgh, Eastern PA, New Jersey, or New England states so candidates must reside in these areas or be willing to relocate.
