Director, Engineering - Engineering - Days
About The Position
Assumes overall responsibility for the administrative supervision of the Facilities and Engineering functions. Oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of all buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant environment. Directs preventive maintenance programs, energy management, and utility systems. Provides leadership for construction and renovation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and budgetary guidelines. Works collaboratively with finance and other departments to manage capital planning and operational budgets. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and organizational policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years in management roles overseeing facilities or engineering operations.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, Life Safety Code, and federal and state regulations.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and AIA procedures.
- Proficient in CAD and construction-related software applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Moderate walking, stooping, bending, and climbing are required for inspections.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity for working with tools, schematics, and blueprints.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Experience as a Director of Facilities or Engineering in a hospital or healthcare setting of similar size.
