JOB PURPOSE:Manages the Plant Engineering Department, including staffing, scheduling, workload prioritization, costmanagement, maintenance and quality control. Plans, directs and monitors strategic and tactical goals forall activities related to facilities management and constructions in collaboration with clinical andoperational stakeholders. Responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment. Ensures thatthe physical plant operates in a safe and reliable manner, while complying with all applicable codes andregulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required OR in lieu of degree, equivalent experience equal to six (6) years ofexperience beyond the minimum experience required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in healthcare engineering or related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager) preferred.
  • General Contractors' license preferred.
  • Previous experience in facility planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes an active role in setting annual and long-term goals and objectives for the department,which are consistent with the mission while striving to cut cost and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Prepares and submits the annual budget and capital needs in a timely manner and monitors theapproved budget in order to control and reduce cost.
  • Coordinate maintenance of life support systems, safety systems, HVAC and basic utility systemsin compliance with Environment of Care Standards to insure quality of care.
  • Plans for and oversees major repairs, renovations and new construction. Serves as liaisonbetween facility and contractors during construction cycles.
  • Develop, update and implement department policies and procedures as they address staffing,maintenance, life safety and disaster plans.
