About The Position

Kimedics, LLC is one of LocumTenens.com families of companies. Kimedics is building workforce solutions for healthcare staffing to help operations teams and clinicians spend less time on administrative tasks and more time on patient care. With the growing clinician shortage, medical groups have to rely on collaboration with their clinician networks and staffing partner organizations to fill their schedule efficiently - and without the right tool this can get incredibly complicated and expensive fast. We help them organize and optimize their practice staffing and scheduling operations! We have built a full-stack end-to-end solution consisting of roster management, credentialing and document task templates, scheduling apps, pay calculation automation and analytics dashboards that empower healthcare organizations to optimize their schedule and rosters for the best fit and cost optimized schedule. We are a Jackson Healthcare company and we are now the second largest healthcare staffing company in the U.S., serving more than 7 million patients in over 1,400 healthcare facilities. The Director, Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the platform infrastructure and reliability, including cloud architecture, data platforms, and product stability. This role will ensure compliance, manage security programs, and lead incident responses. The Director, Engineering will also build and manage technical teams, define the platform roadmap, and partner across the organization to optimize performance and support business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, required
  • 10+ year(s) of progressive engineering experience, including:
  • 5+ year(s) of platform/infrastructure engineering
  • 3+ year(s) in engineering leadership
  • Ability to adhere to and exhibit the Company Values at all times
  • Advanced proficiency of cloud platforms (preferably Azure), infrastructure-as-code practices, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIPPA and SOC2requirements
  • Ability to leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate engineering productivity and support data-driven decision making
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication - skills both oral and written
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to build a team that encourages engineers to take risks, admit mistakes, and learn
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients
  • Solid critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Professional, or equivalent), preferred
  • CISSP or Security certifications, preferred
  • Experience scaling infrastructure and teams from startup to growth-stage

Responsibilities

  • Own production reliability, cloud architecture, and data infrastructure that scales to meet revenue goals
  • Design and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance, availability, and cost efficiency
  • Build and maintain data platform capabilities enabling real-time analytics and reporting
  • Deliver platform capabilities and self-service tooling that accelerate developer productivity and deployment velocity
  • Establish quality frameworks, testing infrastructure, and monitoring achieving enterprise-grade reliability
  • Partner with Jackson Healthcare security team to lead HITRUST compliance, SOC2 certification, and security programs for Kimedics; own incident response for platform and security issues
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships with Product, Engineering, business leaders to deliver customer value
  • Build and develop platform, quality, and security teams; cultivate technical leadership pipeline
  • Define and execute platform roadmap aligned with business goals; make build-vs-buy decisions for infrastructure and tooling
  • Manage daily operations of direct reports, ensuring they meet daily metrics and budget goals
  • Train, develop, and motivate associates to achieve desired goals
  • Support the VP, Technology serving as backup as needed
  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned
