About The Position

The Director of Engineering Facilities Maintenance is responsible for ensuring that healthcare facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to providing high-quality patient care. This role encompasses strategic planning, budgeting, compliance with regulations, and management of maintenance and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and project planning.
  • Experience with facility management software and relevant technologies.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and facility maintenance.
  • Project management skills with expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and licensed Architect or Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all healthcare facilities.
  • Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Manage budgets related to facility maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction for maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Develop contingency plans for emergency situations (e.g., natural disasters, power outages).
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to align facility management with organizational goals.
  • Manage energy consumption and sustainability initiatives within facilities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and ensure all compliance standards are met.
  • Other duties as required.
