About The Position

The Director of Employee Relations at Alaska Airlines leads a team responsible for navigating complex employee matters, conducting investigations, and managing workplace conflicts. This role collaborates closely with HR, Compliance, and Legal teams to foster a culture of belonging and ensure fair practices in employee relations. The director is expected to influence organizational processes, mentor team members, and drive solutions with empathy and creativity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant HR & Employee Relations experience.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience, including direct management of teams.
• Experience in designing and managing complex processes and projects.
• Proven ability to lead employee investigations.
• Strong partnership skills with HR, legal, and compliance teams.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership vision, strategy, and direction for the Employee Relations team.
• Conduct investigations and support employee relations issues.
• Develop and implement policies, processes, and programs related to employee relations.
• Partner with leaders to navigate sensitive employee issues in collaboration with HR Business Partners.
• Analyze trends and use data to resolve complex employee issues.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance departments to support investigative processes.
• Mentor and coach the employee relations team on handling workplace matters and conflict resolution.
• Ensure fair and equitable practices in employee relations situations.
