About The Position

The Director of Employee Benefits at Methodist Health System is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of the company's health, welfare, absence management, and retirement benefits programs. This position requires a customer-centric mindset and a focus on operational efficiency, ensuring that benefits offerings align with the company's business goals while enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in benefits plan design and administration.
  • Experience with Workday HCM or similar systems for benefits administration preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Expertise in benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and healthcare spend effectively.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, welfare, and retirement benefits programs.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach in all benefits programs, collaborating with HR business partners and finance.
  • Drive the strategy for health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, life, and disability plans.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to enhance benefits programs and ensure seamless administration using Workday HCM.
  • Oversee the integration of employee benefits data into Workday HCM, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate data collection, compliance, and coordination of benefits audits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations such as ACA, ERISA, DOL, and IRS.
  • Develop training and communication strategies for employees and leadership regarding benefits offerings.
  • Build and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high service standards and prompt issue resolution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing benefits team.
