Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates activities for the Transport Medicine Division and Neonatology Division at Children's National Medical Center in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. Responsibilities include direct supervision of staff members and oversight of day-to-day operations to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and cost efficient care. Ensures efficient utilization of available resources to meet productivity and/or financial goals. Works collaboratively with other clinical and administrative personnel throughout the hospital to enhance communication, share pertinent data, and improve upon care delivery processes across the continuum. Meets customer satisfaction goals. Works to optimize all emergency transport services provided.

  • Direct supervision of staff members and oversight of day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, quality, and cost efficient care.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative personnel to enhance communication.
  • Optimize emergency transport services provided.
  • Supervise Pediatric ground/flight teams and Neonatal teams.
  • Coordinate recruitment of RNs, Paramedics, communications staff, and other administrative personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain flight/ground crew schedule.
  • Work with HBS management to prepare department/service budget.
  • Evaluate financial performance reports and develop financial plans.
  • Contribute to developing systems supporting standards of clinical practice.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate programs to enhance services of the department.
  • Support CNMC's pursuit of Magnet Status.
  • Identify trends and areas for systems improvement.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or Finance (Required).
  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or Finance (Preferred).
  • 5 years Clinical experience in interhospital transport (ground and air).
  • 3 years Supervisory experience.
  • 2 years Managerial experience (Preferred).
  • Pediatric/Neonatal transport experience (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of ground and flight transport service.
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills.
  • Ability to work within a shared leadership model.
  • Advanced computer skills/familiarity with business software.
  • Intermediate statistics and algebra skills.
  • Ability to work with report-writer software beneficial.
  • Experience in Pediatric/Neonatal transport.
  • Licenses such as CCT, FPC, CCEMT-P, CCRN, PNCCT, CEN, CFRN, CTRN, CCRN, CMTE or FACHE.
