About The Position

The Director of Emerald City Operations and Productions is responsible for overseeing daily operations at Emerald City Trapeze Arts, managing facilities maintenance, and acting as a liaison for external stakeholders. This role also includes directing all aspects of shows and productions, including budgeting, scheduling, and staff management, ensuring a seamless integration of operations and production activities.

Requirements

  • Strong experiential knowledge base and/or education in technical theater and event planning.
  • Knowledge of general circus arts.
  • 5+ years of experience in project or team management.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster a creative and open-minded work environment.
  • Willingness to celebrate team successes and work independently when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily operations of Emerald City Trapeze Arts, focusing on facilities needs and maintenance requests.
  • Act as a point person for outside stakeholders, including landlords and safety inspectors.
  • Supervise front desk and class operations to ensure positive student services and resolve employee issues.
  • Direct operational functions for planning, scheduling, and executing rentals and parties, collaborating across departments.
  • Oversee calendar and scheduling for space use to maximize efficiency and avoid conflicts.
  • Create a positive working atmosphere while maintaining accountability among staff.
  • Communicate policy changes to staff as needed.
  • Model and support the Mission and Values of Emerald City Trapeze, promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Participate in discussions around programming for efficient space use and success.
  • Manage production schedules, standards, policies, and expectations for efficient facility use during productions.
  • Create financial plans, track accounting, and deliver reports to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Hire and manage all production and event-related staff.
  • Collaborate with program managers to integrate production and program operations.
  • Provide input for production-related programming and oversee technical aspects of assigned projects.
  • Manage administrative systems such as annual budgeting and capital expenditure planning for the Production Department.
  • Sit on co-production panel to select Co-Production Partners.
