About The Position

The Department of Cardiology, Smidt Heart Institute has an exciting opportunity for a senior faculty leader to serve as Division Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and grow a thriving electrophysiology program that is nationally recognized for clinical excellence, innovation, and academic achievement. The successful candidate will shape the future of electrophysiology care, research, and education within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The Division currently consists of 9 core faculty, 5 advanced practice providers, and 15 affiliated providers with expertise in all aspects of clinical electrophysiology and houses multidisciplinary research programs that encompass basic, translational, clinical, and population science in cardiac electrophysiology. The Division is also home to an ACGME-accredited Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Eligible for unrestricted California license as Physician
  • A track record of leadership in clinical, academics, and research within the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
  • Meet requirement for appointments at the rank Professor of Cardiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center
  • Nationally recognized expertise and leadership in cardiac electrophysiology, demonstrated through significant clinical, research, and academic accomplishments.
  • A track record of excellence in teaching, patient care and administration
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and mentorship skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Electrophysiology Division, fostering a culture of clinical excellence, academic scholarship, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Oversee and standardize the delivery of electrophysiology services across all inpatient and outpatient sites, ensuring access, quality, efficiency, and adoption of best practices.
  • Lead clinical program development in advanced arrhythmia management, device implantation, and ablation therapies, while guiding the integration of novel technologies.
  • Direct educational initiatives for medical students, residents, and fellows, maintaining high standards of teaching, mentorship, and program development.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support the professional growth of a diverse and talented faculty and staff.
  • Advance the Heart Rhythm Center as a regional and national center of excellence, strengthening relationships with referring providers and expanding outreach efforts.
  • Promote and support basic, translational, and clinical research, including trial participation and innovation in care delivery models.
  • Collaborate closely with institutional leadership and operational teams to achieve system-wide goals in patient care, research, and education.
