About The Position

The Director of Education at Iredell Health System holds a strategic responsibility for planning, directing, and evaluating all short- and long-range programs related to organizational development and staff education. This role encompasses a wide range of operational functions, including staffing, orientation, leadership development, staff education, competency assessments, student clinical rotations, and instructor/student orientation. The Director will lead the identification, development, and implementation of organizational development strategies and interventions that align with the organization's goals and objectives. In this position, the Director will provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and knowledge. This includes recommending and evaluating outside training resources, coordinating orientation for new employees, and providing leadership orientation for new leaders. The Director will also ensure the effectiveness of the organization-wide staff education program by formulating an annual plan for management and staff education. Conducting organizational learning needs assessments and developing plans for program development and expansion to address identified learning gaps will be key responsibilities. Additionally, the Director will oversee the maintenance of continuing education requirements for various positions within the State of North Carolina, ensuring that nursing and clinical policies, procedures, and forms related to education are current and evidence-based. The role requires administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions and activities, including managing departmental budgets and meeting financial performance targets. The Director must also understand regulatory compliance issues affecting the system and department, ensuring that all personnel maintain compliance at all times. This position demands flexibility to adapt to the continually changing healthcare environment while maintaining the highest levels of service to patients, family members, visitors, physicians, and other hospital departments.
