The Director, eCommerce is a cross-functional leader responsible for delivering sales and promotions for Bandai Namco brands and products with oversight responsibility for the eCommerce (D2C) business in the Americas. This role merges brand management, eCommerce, operations, insights, and technology, with a strong emphasis on discoverability and performance. By leveraging their profound understanding of our Fans, this individual will drive brand recognition and foster cross-channel engagement. They will utilize fan insights to make recommendations that enhance the eCommerce brand visibility roadmap, influence strategic decisions, and boost performance. Additionally, they will collaborate with internal operations and technology teams to ensure the eStore is accurate, optimized, and strategically positioned for market success. The Director, eCommerce will also be responsible for the growth and development of their direct reports.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in brand or product marketing, customer experience, or e-commerce roles at a leading entertainment company preferably in toys, games, or movies
  • 5+ years of experience in managing a team
  • BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Experienced storefront operator with expertise in product sourcing, inventory management, returns, and platform operations
  • Demonstrated excellent skills in business, communication, analysis, prioritization, and project management
  • Creatively driven to boost sales and profits while actively demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit in identifying and pursuing new opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to drive consensus among multiple stakeholders across various entities, with proven experience working with international teams and multicultural environments.
  • This position is expected to travel 0 - 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the eCommerceteam by driving strategy and execution across marketing, merchandising, and operations to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Oversee eStore's digital presence and be the subject matter expert on Fan sentiment, behaviors, and eCommercemarket dynamics
  • Translate insights reports into clear action items for the eStore such as developing product launches, exclusive offers, and targeted promotions for key audience segments.
  • Lead and communicate a strong vision and identity for the BNEA Store to internal stakeholders while developing compelling product launch narratives that deeply engage fans and reinforce brand loyalty
  • Collaborate with merchandising and cross-functional teams to develop licensee plans that optimize commercial opportunities.
  • Enhance SKU assortment and lifecycle management, maintain precise inventory control, and create a unique customer journey.
  • Establish and implement a standardized method for forecasting and conducting P&L reviews related to special SKUs and collectible merchandise.
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to uncover growth opportunities, optimize processes, and deploy innovative strategies that enhance operational performance.
  • Coordinate with global Bandai Namco entities to align product features and pricing, ensuring a consistent fan experience across all markets.
  • Monitor industry trends, voice of the fans, and translate them into expanded eStore discoverability and monthly active user growth.
  • Build leadership and decision-making skills in team members.
