About The Position

The Director of Ecommerce Merchandising Operations is a key leader in the ecommerce org. This role reports into the VP of eCommerce. This role is responsible for driving the customer experience through brand expression, product positioning and aligned marketing priorities while optimizing operational excellence across tools and teams. The position requires strength in merchandising, analytics, strategic thinking, technical thought leadership and ability to work well cross-functionally to ultimately drive site engagement resulting in conversion gains and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of ecommerce/online merchandising experience required.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to create strong, compelling merchandising experiences with a brand-appropriate lens.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills to drive a productive cross functional relationship.
  • Ability to manage effectively under pressure and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to leverage data and draw action-oriented conclusions.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit to innovate and drive the digital experience forward.
  • SalesForce or similar web management tools experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Topline Ecommerce Business Goals.
  • Understand and articulate a high level of business acumen to drive daily/weekly product and experience decisions.
  • Translate category priorities digitally and respond to product trends in season.
  • Leverage site and marketing channel analytics to improve customer experience and drive stronger conversion.
  • Respond quickly to business needs and promotional changes as they arise.
  • Direct the execution of the customer journey from high level inception to live on-site experience.
  • Ensure a cohesive customer experience within product messaging from offsite marketing to onsite shopping experience.
  • Be the digital customer advocate in meetings, ensuring that the brand is making decisions that support her based on insights derived from quantitative and qualitative data points.
  • Lead brand moment kick off each month with CFT and digital merch team.
  • Communicate the merchandising, customer, and branding priorities.
  • Drive cross functional partnership and alignment thru weekly working sessions and status checks, ensuring all business objectives are achieved.
  • Engage in conflict resolution and peer negotiation to ensure that digital process stays on track.
  • Present weekly digital merchandising strategy and expression to leadership.
  • Approve final version of creative prior to release on the site.
  • Leverage competition for inspiration and innovation around digital content and site functionality.
  • Optimize process & operations across all digital touchpoints.
  • Lead the conversation on process & operational optimization.
  • Establish clear standard operating procedures for regular occurring tasks across the ecommerce organization.
  • Develop tools for managing workload and optimizing workflow.
  • Regularly monitor the team's workflow to identify inefficiencies & points of friction.
  • Express the voice of site tools & functionality across the organization.
  • Be present when discussing the future state of site features & functionality.
  • Primary ecomm point of contact for site issues.
  • Manage upwards and laterally amongst peers as the subject matter expert.
  • Communicate broadly with Lane Bryant & Knitwell leadership as needed when major site incidents and updates occur or are planned.
  • Lead and develop a cross-functional, multi-disciplined team.
  • Coach & mentor teams driving personal growth, engagement and dedication to the brand.
  • Lead with an innovation and growth mindset.
  • Prioritize workload based on the needs of the business.
  • Manage change as a positive, with the ability to lead team to be simultaneously adaptive and focused.
  • Influence partners towards common goals and successful outcomes.
