About The Position

The Director, Earnings Strategy and Assessment, leads the development and execution of a comprehensive earnings program strategy for the Spark Driver platform. This role ensures regulatory compliance, data integrity, and robust internal controls across cross-functional teams. The director drives continuous improvement by translating strategic objectives into measurable outcomes, managing risk, and maintaining transparent reporting. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders, this position supports audit readiness, operational excellence, and effective communication of program health to senior leadership, fostering a disciplined and scalable earnings ecosystem aligned with business priorities. About the team: The Trust & Safety Governance team develops and enforces policies, standards, and controls to ensure platform safety, fairness, and compliance. Working closely with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering, the team creates scalable governance frameworks that protect stakeholders and the business. They identify emerging risks, address policy gaps, and align efforts with regulatory requirements. By integrating risk analysis, policy development, and performance monitoring, the team promotes accountability and continuous improvement, enabling efficient operations while maintaining strong safeguards across the organization.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in developing and executing earnings program strategies within complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, filings, and reporting requirements related to financial and earnings data.
  • Proven ability to design, assess, and maintain internal controls over earnings calculations and disbursements.
  • Expertise in data quality assurance, reconciliation processes, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and driving resolution of operational risks and anomalies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Economics, or related field and 8 years’ experience in audit, program management, compliance, controllership, finance, complex operational reporting, or related discipline OR 10 years’ experience in audit, program management, compliance, controllership, finance, complex operational reporting, or related discipline.

  • Background in e-commerce, retail, or other high-scale consumer platforms managing complex operational or financial data.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that span Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Experience operating in regulated or highly controlled environments (for example, financial services, e-commerce risk, or trust and safety functions).
  • Experience working on or with gig-economy, marketplace, or platform business models (for example, driver, courier, or contractor ecosystems).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the end-to-end earnings strategy for the Spark Driver platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop measurable objectives, roadmaps, and success metrics for earnings programs across multiple teams.
  • Own regulatory reporting and compliance documentation, meeting external and internal audit standards.
  • Design and assess internal controls over earnings calculations and workflows, identifying gaps and validating remediation.
  • Establish data quality checks, reconciliation routines, and monitoring dashboards to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams addressing policy evolution, product changes, and incident remediation.
  • Communicate program health, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership through clear, concise updates.
