About The Position

The Director of Early Learning Programs at Illinois Action for Children (IAFC) is responsible for overseeing the organization's Head Start, Early Head Start, and Preschool for All programs. This role involves managing program budgets, preparing grant applications, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and maintaining relationships with partner child care centers. The Director will also supervise classroom staff and promote a safe and positive learning environment for children, all while adhering to the organization's core values of accountability, customer focus, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience managing early childhood education programs.
• Experience working as an early childhood teacher.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of budgets for each contract with ISBE and Head Start, developing site budgets within each contract.
• Prepare grant applications to ISBE and Head Start on an annual basis for ongoing and expansion programs.
• Prepare contracts with partner child care centers annually.
• Ensure participating child care centers meet ISBE and Head Start funding requirements and contract requirements established by IAFC.
• Manage the department's data-driven program improvement process, including data collection and execution of program improvement plans.
• Supervise classroom staff to ensure effective program delivery.
• Implement active supervision to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all children.
• Coordinate Preschool for All programs with other IAFC programs and departments.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with ISBE, Head Start, and other organizations relevant to IAFC's programming.
• Execute workplace core capabilities of accountability, customer focus, continuous quality improvement, communication, competent people, and clear priorities.
