Vogel, a leading nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless children in Dallas, is seeking a dynamic Director of Early Childhood Programs to join our team. As the Director of Early Childhood Programs, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all early childcare programs, ensuring compliance with credentialing and licensing requirements, and leading the day-to-day operations of our center. Your leadership will be essential in delivering high-quality services that promote the social, physical, intellectual, developmental, and emotional growth of every child enrolled. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $75,000 - $93,750 What we do Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5-10 years of experience in early childhood classroom and/or program management.
  • Experience with curriculum implementation, especially for children with special needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and experience working with homeless children and families.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend hours if needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage : Oversee the planning, implementation, and supervision of all aspects of program operations, ensuring full compliance with TXPRS Childcare Licensing Minimum Standards, Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation, and Dallas ISD Pre-K requirements.
  • Collaborate for Excellence: Work closely with the Director of Family Support/Mental Health, Director of Operations, CFO, and Director of HR as part of the Senior Management Team.
  • Inspire and Mentor : Lead a team of professional educators, ensuring high standards in the delivery of early childhood education and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards in program operations, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and that the center operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support Growth & Development:: Implement research-based curricula and assessment processes, provide leadership to teachers, and ensure consistent high-quality classroom progress.
  • Uphold Health & Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff, collaborating with the Director of Operations on safety practices and managing the center's health program.
