About The Position

The Director of Donor Relations at Midland College is responsible for managing and enhancing donor relationships to secure financial support for the Midland College Foundation and the college itself. This role involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, while also participating in fundraising events and maintaining donor records. The Director works closely with the Executive Director of Development and Operations and plays a key role in community engagement and donor communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in donor relations.
• Four years of experience working in donor relations and fundraising.
• Knowledge of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors in the Midland community.
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and detail-oriented tasks.
• Valid Texas Driver License and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Four or more years of donor relations and fundraising experience.
• Academic and administrative experience.
• Experience working with donor software, specifically Raiser's Edge.

Responsibilities

• Manage donor relationships to raise financial support for the Midland College Foundation and Midland College.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in partnership with the Executive Director of Development and Operations.
• Engage directly with prospective donors to inform them about Midland College's mission, goals, needs, and gift opportunities.
• Organize and engage in the cultivation and stewardship of donors through personal contact, including meetings and correspondence.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with nonprofit organizations in the Midland community.
• Procure corporate and major individual gifts and sponsorships.
• Assist with the coordination of community-wide donor-centered events, including donor appreciation events and planned giving events.
• Work closely with the Marketing Department to enhance donor connections and sponsorships.
