About The Position

The Dining Services Director at Brookdale Cushing Park is responsible for overseeing all food service operations within the community, ensuring high-quality dining experiences for residents. This role involves managing food preparation, dining room operations, and catering services, while also maintaining compliance with health regulations and managing budgets. The position emphasizes a strong customer service focus and aims to enhance the quality of life for residents through engaging dining experiences.

Requirements

• College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in the food service industry, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Experience managing food inventories and budgets, and preparing and cooking meals.
• Full understanding of financial management, labor cost control, and menu design.
• Current ServSafe Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in senior living or healthcare food service management.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and nutrition for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Direct food service operations including food preparation, dining room operations, and delivery services.
• Manage food purchases and inventory, ensuring effective cost controls and vendor service quality.
• Ensure high nutrition and food quality for residents, complying with all health regulations.
• Plan and execute dining events and themes in collaboration with other administrative staff.
• Hire, train, and manage supervisory staff for kitchen and dining services, ensuring a safe and pleasant dining environment.
• Consult with chefs to develop nutritious menus based on resident preferences and dietary needs.
• Develop and monitor department budget, including purchasing and staffing expenditures.
• Encourage socialization and enjoyment through food presentation and events.
• Network with Regional Food Service Directors to improve operations and reduce costs.
