About The Position

The Director of Dining Services at Chartwells K12 in Duval School District is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the successful operation of dining services across multiple school locations. This position focuses on ensuring client satisfaction, managing food service operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety in food preparation and service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate on various levels including management, client, customer, and associate levels.
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Prior experience in K12 school nutrition and familiarity with the National School Lunch Program/USDA regulations.
  • ServSafe® Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of associates across 10-13 locations within the Duval County school district.
  • Oversees the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains associates; plans, assigns, and advises work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Prepares and manages the annual budget as needed/assigned.
  • Utilizes company systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/time-keeping, etc.
  • Coordinates and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for preparation, presentation, sanitation and safety, and portion control.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
