Director, Digital Workspace Services

About the position

The Director will lead the strategy, development, and operations of digital workspace technologies across the organization, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of operating systems, application packaging and deployment, patch management, and end-user support. This role also encompasses oversight of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), thin client solutions, and comprehensive endpoint management, including mobile device management and productivity services. The ideal candidate will drive innovation to enhance user experience, increase productivity, and strengthen security, delivering scalable, user-focused solutions that support a modern and efficient digital workplace.

Responsibilities

• Oversee digital workspace OS, VDI, and thin client infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
• Lead streamlined application packaging, patching, and compliance processes.
• Manage endpoint and mobile device strategies using tools like Intune and Jamf.
• Drive adoption of productivity tools (Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Power Platform, etc.) to enhance collaboration.
• Direct support operations, including monitoring, escalation, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
• Define and track KPIs/SLAs to measure service effectiveness and user satisfaction.
• Align workspace services portfolio with business priorities and resource efficiency.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration with a technology focus or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in IT leadership roles.
• 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
• Expertise in VDI, thin clients, and endpoint management tools like Intune and Jamf.
• Proven success managing enterprise productivity platforms (Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Power Platform, Lucidchart).
• Advanced knowledge of workspace OS, application packaging, patching, and software distribution.
• Strong grasp of VDI architecture, endpoint and mobile device management strategies.
• Skilled in a broad range of collaboration tools and third-party software.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and team management abilities.
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and project delivery skills.
• Experienced in setting and managing KPIs, SLAs, and driving continuous improvement.
• Up-to-date with emerging technologies and experienced in vendor negotiation and management.
