Position Summary This is an accelerated career opportunity to the Technical Director role. This is a long-term career opportunity to build on your education and experience, with the first 12 months heavily focusing on learning the intricacies of a state-of-the-art lab to change lives and have an impact on the world. Technical Directors are strong leaders and effective communicators that both lead their laboratory and interact with clients, physicians as well as their laboratory staff. You will utilize your technical skills and expertise and learn to oversee the laboratory where you would ensure the accuracy of all testing in your laboratory. There will be mentoring and networking opportunities, the opportunity to publish papers, attend external meetings to stay current in your field of expertise, opportunities to work with universities and companies on projects as well as opportunities to present both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • PhD in relevant chemical, physical or biological sciences.
  • Currently board-certified or board-eligible to direct a high complexity clinical laboratory (ABB, ABCC, ABMLI, ABMM, NRCC or DMLI, as appropriate).
  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic immunology with a focus on infectious diseases and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory regulations, quality assurance principles, and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, ISO).
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians.
  • Proven history of driving process improvement initiatives and delivering results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical laboratory experience as a clinical laboratory scientist or technical supervisor/manager.
  • Specific expertise in techniques related to diagnostic immunology such as ELISA, IFA, DFA and esoteric serological techniques.
