The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Director, Device & Therapy Sciences, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Being responsible for developing, implementing, directing and overseeing programs to understand the science of wound healing, infection prevention, and other areas of strategic interest to Solventum Working with colleagues to evaluate and develop emerging techniologies for use in future products Being responsible for providing technical input and allocating proper resources and skill sets to provide appropriate scientific/engineering/technical leadership and support (study design, implementation and reporting) for innovation, concept, product development and sustaining efforts. Being responsible for working with internal functions and external entities worldwide, as appropriate, to ensure success of projects Ensuring dissemination of research internally and externally, as appropriate, to maintain and grow scientific reputation and credibility. Performing administrative and financial oversight tasks related to management of projects and groups Fostering a culture of technical excellence, operational rigor, and continuous improvement, while maintaining compliance with medical device regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological sciences or related technical discipline, or equivalent AND a minimum 18 years of experience in medical device technology or related industry, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing evidence strategies for multiple medical devices, drugs and/or drug / device combinations
  • Demonstrated success managing complex medical device research and development projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage and to prioritize multiple competing tasks for team
  • Experience condensing complex requirements into specific and measurable test objectives
  • Experience in experimental design and analysis of bench, in vitro and preclinical studies
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in budgeting, resource planning, project and portfolio management.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation, manage change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and attention to detail and ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical information effectively to different levels within the organization, including summaries for management and non-technical associates.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Engineering, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of wound healing or infection prevention market dynamics
  • Experience researching and/or developing devices, drugs and device / drug combinations
  • Conversant and knowledgeable of basic principles in engineering and scientific disciplines
  • Conversant in regulatory paradigms beyond FDA
  • Established track record of presentations and publications in peer-reviewed formats
  • Experience successfully managing teams at multiple locations
  • MBA or equivalent business training is a plus.
