General Summary/Responsibilities: · The Director of Development will initiate, plan, direct and implement the Foundation special events and donor campaigns. He/she will maintain donor relationships, secure new prospects, and solicit donors. These activities will be developed to achieve the mission of the Foundations using the policies, objectives and strategic goals as established by the Vice President and the Board of Trustees. Responsible to meet legal, financial, state and federal regulations. Scope/Span of Control: · Plans, organizes, markets, implements, and evaluates special events and donor campaigns. Translates mission and goals into cost effective programs for the hospital and to the community. Assists in major donor identification, cultivation and solicitation. · The Director of Development will research and identify appropriate fundraising benchmarks, compare Foundation results and implement Performance Improvement processes into the programs and events. · Meet and exceed national fundraising cost standards. · The director of Development acts as a representative and/or spokesperson for the organization.
