About The Position

The Director of Destination Partnership Development is responsible for in-market sales across the state of Virginia, accomplished by servicing and building a new and existing advertiser base of destinations, hotels, restaurants, resorts, attractions, and other tourism, meetings and convention, international travel trade-related businesses, and economic development related businesses.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related sales experience or DMO experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience selling/buying media including print and digital advertising.
  • Willingness to be a great team player and strong addition to culture.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to be positively accountable to customer and peer criticism and feedback.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Able to effectively manage internal/external relationships.
  • Display a dependable, strong work ethic.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, professional office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves or exceeds revenue goals.
  • Build relationships by establishing a regular communication cadence with advertisers and prospects.
  • Consistently uses CRM and maintains the records in a database, including accounts, contacts, and opportunities and develop a pipeline report to track and communicate progress towards goals throughout the year.
  • Develop communication plan to proactively share relevant information with customers and prospects throughout the buying cycle.
  • Cultivates an understanding of existing customers and prospect businesses to best position as a consultative resource.
  • Strategically presents programs to organizations and teams in a professional manner representing the client and Miles in these settings.
  • Continues to deepen knowledge of the leisure travel, meetings and conventions and travel trade industries in Virginia.
  • Develops new business through prospecting and referrals from existing customers.
  • Serves as the go-to person that communicates the customers' needs to the Miles Partnership's production, accounts payable and customer-service departments.
