The Director of Design Services, within NCS at Georgetown University, is responsible for developing and managing the lifecycle processes for integrating new assets onto the enterprise network. This role involves designing requirements for asset identification, implementing a pre-defined process for monitoring assets via Nagios XI and other tools, and establishing on-call and escalation procedures for alerts. The Director also handles the offboarding process and conducts periodic validation of assets and stakeholders. The Director collaborates with stakeholders to formalize all IT requirements into Division 27 documents and stores them in a centralized library for easy access, ensuring they are kept up to date. The work performed by this team is essential for ensuring IT requirements are quickly provided for new projects with IT components. The Director works closely with partners in the GU Facilities Capital Projects Team and other project owners involved in all construction projects. The Director also engages with FPM on vendor and contractor oversight within network closets and with INO for reviewing all networking requirements. This position reports to the Senior Director, Infrastructure Operations, and has three direct reports on the Design Services Team.
