About The Position

Meta is seeking a highly experienced Director of Deployment Strategy to define and lead how data center capacity is deployed across the global portfolio. This role is accountable for translating long-range capacity demand into executable deployment strategies that balance speed, cost, risk, and supply-chain reality at scale. The Director of Deployment Strategy sits upstream of project execution and owns the strategic orchestration of deployment—including market analysis, delivery models, commercial approach, and supply-chain readiness—ensuring Meta can launch capacity predictably and repeatedly in a constrained global environment. The role directly manages capacity supply development, global estimating and supply-chain functions, using them as strategic inputs to deployment decisions. The ideal candidate combines portfolio-level judgment, commercial rigor, and systems thinking with the ability to operate across ambiguity, rapid growth, and evolving technical requirements.

  • Proven track record of leading and developing large, impactful teams
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and executing complex commercial strategies and multi-billion dollar deals
  • Experience managing ambiguity and navigating complex project challenges
  • Experience creating and driving vision and strategy within a large organization

Nice To Haves

  • Mission Critical/ Data Center experience is preferred
  • International development experience

  • Translate long-range demand signals into phased deployment plans with clear assumptions on timing, delivery model, and supply enablement.
  • Lead intake, prioritization, and scenario planning to evaluate deployment options across markets and programs.
  • Own trade-space analysis for DEC (speed vs cost vs risk vs scalability) to inform broader IDC and infra capacity decisions.
  • Lead capacity supply development to ensure labor, manufacturing, and contractor capacity is aligned to forward deployment plans.
  • Develop capacity enablement strategies that support surge, regional expansion, and programmatic delivery.
  • Lead the global estimating organization as a strategic planning capability.
  • Ensure consistent methodologies, benchmarks, escalation logic, and confidence levels that support deployment-stage decisions.
  • Use cost intelligence to shape deployment strategies, delivery models, and market sequencing.
  • Develop DEC supply-chain strategy, including vendor readiness, scaling needs, long term commitments for resources and regional supply scaling.
  • Analyze and define deployment-appropriate commercial strategies, including contracting structures, risk allocation, and delivery models.
  • Support negotiations with Preconstruction where deployment strategy materially impacts commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure projects entering design/preconstruction are deployment-ready, with clear assumptions on cost, schedule, supply, and delivery approach.
  • Establish portfolio-level reporting on deployment health, including readiness, constraints, confidence, and risk.
  • Communicate strategic insights, scenario outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Provide early warning on systemic risks impacting deployment velocity or optionality.
  • Lead and develop leaders across estimating, capacity supply, and supply-chain planning.
  • Build scalable operating models, clear interfaces, and a strong succession bench.
