About The Position

AscellaHealth is seeking a seasoned IT leader be our Director, Data Strategy & Governance to drive the modernization of data and analytics by aligning teams of cross-functional Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians across business verticals on delivering value through data and best practices/standards for scale. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and can pragmatically balance strategic alignment with tactical progress. This is a hybrid role based at our AscellaHealth headquarters in Berwyn, PA. We are open to more remote flexibility for the right person.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in Data Strategy, Governance, and/or Automation.
  • Strong background in Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with OneLake, ADF, Power Platform preferred.
  • Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Passionate and curious person who looks to learn continuously and embraces the adoption of new technologies that impact business, markets, and user experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with constantly changing and potentially competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills will be required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Implement standards and best practices for data management through proper unified and scalable data architecture, classification, lineage, reusable integration patterns, role-based access controls, and master data management to keep data consistent across the enterprise.
  • Establish a data council to drive alignment of Owners, Stewards, and Custodians to the data governance framework
  • Partner with business leaders/stakeholders to ensure data solutions are driven by use case/problem statements with a focus on proactive insights that deliver value
  • Leverage PMO to manage backlogs and hold cross-functional teams accountable for delivery
  • Improve analytics maturity by driving solutions into cross-functional teams with a focus on operational efficiency and supporting decision-making through the use of BI, automation, and AI tools where possible.
  • Evaluate tools and vendors for best fit
  • Define and enforce policies to ensure compliance with data standards and responsible AI use
  • Practice servant leadership mindset and influence talent development outside of direct reports
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
