About The Position

This is an opportunity to lead and own IGT's global data privacy program from an operational aspect. IGT is seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a track record of garnering support for and delivering projects in fast moving and complex environments to execute our privacy roadmap. In this role, you'll work with a wide variety of IGT's senior leaders and stakeholders including legal, product technology, and information technology and security to ensure that IGT's data practices are and remain in compliance with applicable laws. This position reports to the Legal Counsel - Data Privacy and ERM (Enterprise Risk Management).

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of data privacy, data protection, and data governance laws around the globe, in particular GDPR, PIPL, PIPEDA, CCPA/CPRA, and other country, federal, and state data protection laws
  • Capable of spotting data privacy and protection issues and correspondingly strong ability to provide solutions or paths to resolution
  • Ability to understand complicated laws and regulations and translate them into practical, actionable, business-oriented advice
  • Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing advice and guidance to internal clients
  • Outstanding organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize deadlines
  • Attention to detail, including documentation, record-keeping, and tracking
  • Laser-focus on client-service excellence by being highly proactive, responsive, adaptable, and team-oriented
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of writing and presentation products
  • Experience with usage of Data Privacy Software (ex. OneTrust or Transcend)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or certifications in data privacy and protection preferred (e.g., CIPP, CIPM)
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years substantive experience leading global data privacy and protection programs, preferably with a technology company
  • Experience leading large-scale projects, project teams, or workstreams within the regulatory and technology fields, including the development and execution of long-term plans
  • Experience with supporting systems compliance for major privacy regulations in the US, EU and Asia
  • Previous experience with data, its management, and technologies such as databases
  • Strong experience in creating or redesigning, rolling out and executing organizational processes

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary lead on implementation of the global data privacy and protection program and manage a team of privacy professionals to operationalize the global data privacy and protection program
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify gaps in privacy implementation across global business units
  • Translate regulatory requirements and expectations into actionable business requirements and ensure clear communication and coordination of such requirements to business units and functional areas
  • Partner across the global organization to provide actionable advice to minimize legal risks while advancing business goals and objectives laws in the context of IGT's activities
  • Ensure the company's data privacy and protection procedures are in accordance with global data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Evaluate the existing data privacy and protection framework and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Own leadership updates, including creating presentation decks, roadmaps, and status reports for an executive audience
  • Establish governance, safeguards, and auditing infrastructure to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Evaluate and/or develop training materials related to data privacy and protection compliance policies and procedures; provide effective training on the same
  • Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with clients, stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues
  • Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization
  • Perform other tasks as assigned from time-to-time by the Associate General Counsel - Data Privacy & Compliance
