Green Dot CorporationTampa, FL

About The Position

Green Dot is seeking an experienced analytics leader to serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for our largest business partner within BI & Analytics engagement. This Director-level role is fully dedicated to partner-related analytics work and blends senior people leadership, program and project management, and hands-on technical expertise. The ideal candidate can lead and develop a high-performing BI team, manage a complex external partnership with our largest partner, and step into the analytics work when necessary, across SQL and Tableau. In the first 6-12 months, success will involve strengthening trust with Partner stakeholders through consistent communication, clear expectations, and reliable execution. The candidate will demonstrate strong ownership of the Partner-BI relationship by proactively managing priorities, risks, and delivery timelines, and successfully complete the migration of Partner reporting and dashboards from MicroStrategy to Tableau, ensuring accuracy, stakeholder confidence, and adoption. They will also improve overall quality, consistency, and documentation of Partner analytics deliverables, implement a clear intake and prioritization model that balances Partner demand with team capacity, build a highly engaged, well-supported Partner BI team with clear roles, accountability, and development plans, provide transparent, executive-ready status reporting that highlights progress, risks, and tradeoffs, and position the Partner BI function as a trusted, strategic analytics partner rather than a reactive reporting team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in Analytics/BI space with strong experience in technology, database, SQL and analytics tools
  • Proven experience as a people leader, including managing and developing analytics professionals or managers.
  • Strong program and project management experience managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to independently analyze data and troubleshoot issues.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining dashboards in Tableau.
  • Experience acting as a primary point of contact for senior external partners or clients.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Ability to meet the location requirement outlined above

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
  • Prior exposure to MicroStrategy or similar enterprise BI platforms.
  • Experience leading BI platform migrations or large-scale reporting transformations.
  • Background in financial services, payments, or other regulated environments.
  • Ability to comfortably operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for all Partner BI & Analytics initiatives and act as the primary, day-to-day point of contact with external Partner resources.
  • Own and strengthen the strategic working relationship between Green Dot BI and the Partner through clear communication, reliable delivery, and high-quality analytics output.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a dedicated Partner BI team; provide coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Own intake, prioritization, resourcing, and delivery of all Partner analytics requests across recurring, ad hoc, and project-based work.
  • Provide program and project management leadership, including planning, timelines, risk management, and dependency tracking using Jira and related tooling.
  • Maintain accurate and transparent project boards and reporting for both internal stakeholders and Partner counterparts.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate, and well-documented reporting and analytics deliverables.
  • Lead and support dashboard development in Tableau, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and stakeholder enablement.
  • Write, review, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to support analytics, data validation, and issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineering on data models and pipelines, including work in dbt and enterprise data platforms.
  • Oversee and support legacy reporting where required (including MicroStrategy) while driving modernization efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Engineering teams in support of Partner initiatives.
  • Identify staffing needs, skill gaps, and hiring plans for the Partner BI team; support recruiting and onboarding efforts.
