About The Position

We're looking for someone to help scale DoorDash's e-commerce fulfillment platform, DashMart, powered by a network of dark stores across the US. The DashMart team is focused on building a new type of e-commerce platform, DashMart Fulfillment Services, offering household essentials, groceries and local restaurant favorites to customers' doorsteps. As a Director on our DashMart Growth Strategy & Operations team, you will be the single threaded owner for all consumer growth initiatives including affordability and co-manage the P&L with our GM of DashMart. You and your team will own high-impact growth initiatives end to end-including developing the initial strategy, executing with precision, and analyzing results to inform future investment and growth decisions. You will work on initiatives that drive customer conversion and order frequency through personalized shopper experiences, go-to-market strategies, in-app merchandising, and occasions strategies while having the path towards profitability top of mind. You will also own DashMart's affordability strategy end to end inclusive of item pricing and fees. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including product, analytics, category management, and finance to identify, size, and scale growth levers. Lastly, your team will be responsible for forecasting volume and GOV in partnership with finance for annual and quarterly planning cycles and managing top line pacing to plan intra quarter. You will report into the GM of DashMart Strategy & Operations within our New Verticals organization and manage a team of direct & indirect reports. This is a hybrid role, with a blend of in-office and remote work including travel cross-country 3-4 times per quarter on average minimum. You're excited about this opportunity because you will… Build. You'll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash's next big business. You'll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details. Strategize. From first principles, you'll develop the optimal strategy for best serving our customers. Experiment. You'll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans. Analyze. You'll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data. Lead and collaborate. You'll work with a cross-functional team, including marketing, design, product, and operations, and lead your own pod to build this new line of business for DoorDash.

Requirements

  • You solve problems from first principles. You're excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
  • You're equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you're just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.
  • You're unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
  • You're consumer obsessed. You balance our three-sided marketplace, but think about the consumer always.
  • You are a leader. You have 5+ years of experience managing high-performing teams.
  • You have 10+ years of experience. You've succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience).
