The director of assurance services provides leadership to the application security, enterprise vulnerability management, and red teams. A successful director at Starbucks is a self-starter, a natural problem solver, collaborative, and able to work well with adversity and ambiguity. You should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, a deep technical understanding of modern cybersecurity threats, and a validated track record of a hands-on approach to leading and maturing programs in highly targeted environments at scale. Success for the role will be the delivery of a world class program that is positioned to address, contain, and drive successful resolution to any cybersecurity situation. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working in an information technology discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity
  • 8+ years of experience of leading and developing highly performing teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the day-to-day tasks of diverse teams, while effectively influencing senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to develop teams and mentor staff
  • Proven ability to manage and facilitate annual operating budgets and strategic planning
  • Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid business acumen
  • Acts with integrity and dependability
  • A strong bias for action coupled with a high standard of delivery

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPM, or others focused on cybersecurity, data privacy or information risk management.
  • Previous experience leading a red team function.

Responsibilities

  • Setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together
  • Models leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Supports the implementation of enterprise programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
  • Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results
  • Plan and manage process and practices to ensure delivery of a world class Cybersecurity program.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and proactively reports to stakeholders on performance of Cybersecurity activities and metrics, and related risk posture.
  • Providing technical expertise and executing technical responsibilities
  • Responsible for metrics and clear communication on the state of the work group and associated programs.
  • Partner with other teams to continuously improve and advance the organizations operational security capabilities.
  • Define, build, and operate world class application security, vulnerability management and red team operation programs.
  • Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and building an effective team
  • Build and lead a team that supports each other, makes others feel welcome, and succeeds (or fails) together.
  • Challenge and inspire your team to achieve world class results.
  • Support partners in their career growth.
  • Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
