About The Position

The Cyber Mission Support (CMS) Team Lead is a senior leader responsible for guiding, developing, and enabling Pratt & Whitney’s cohort of Cybersecurity & Compliance Leaders (CCLs). Reporting directly to the CISO, this role ensures the CMS organization delivers consistent, business-aligned, and risk-driven outcomes that strengthen cybersecurity posture, compliance readiness, operational resilience, and mission assurance across the enterprise. The CMS Team, as a Deputy to the Pratt & Whitney CISO, Lead shapes the strategic direction, performance, governance, and cohesion of the CCL function—ensuring CCLs operate as a unified, high-performing organization while supporting business environments. The role blends leadership, coaching, governance, risk integration, and cross-functional coordination to elevate cybersecurity across all business domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related discipline with 12+ years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience.
  • 12+ years experience in cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF/800-171, CIS, ISO 27001), risk governance, and regulatory requirements in regulated industries.
  • 10+ years leading senior-level professionals and driving alignment across teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Familiarity with major enterprise cyber initiatives: Zero Trust, DLP/ILH, OT security, cloud security, supplier assurance, and compliance frameworks (CMMC, DoD/FAA/EASA).

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Cybersecurity & Compliance Leaders across P&L, functional, engineering, and operations domains. Build a culture anchored in clarity, accountability, trust, inclusion, and high performance. Drive talent strategy, hiring, skill development, succession planning, and role clarity for the entire CMS organization.
  • Strategic Alignment & Business Integration Ensure CCLs effectively translate enterprise cybersecurity strategy, risk frameworks, and compliance requirements into business-relevant action plans. Maintain deep alignment between CMS activities, business priorities, and RTX Enterprise Cyber programs. Partner with Digital Technology (DT), Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality leadership to drive cybersecurity integration across programs and transformation efforts.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance Leadership Oversee the enterprise rhythm of cyber risk reviews, compliance readiness assessments, surge-risk forums, and other governance mechanisms orchestrated by CCLs. Create a unified, integrated view of cyber and compliance risks across all business domains for the CISO and executive leadership. Define and enforce high standards for risk communication, escalation pathways, and business accountability.
  • Performance, Metrics & Continuous Improvement Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and operating standards for the CCL cohort. Drive consistency in measurement, reporting, and visibility of cyber posture across all business units. Identify systemic improvement opportunities; ensure CCLs are equipped to influence enterprise teams (engineering, operations, compliance, DT) toward solutions.
  • Communication, Narrative & Stakeholder Engagement Shape the enterprise-level cyber risk narrative for executive audiences. Provide communication frameworks, templates, and coaching to help CCLs deliver clear, concise, and impactful messaging. Ensure consistent articulation of cyber priorities, compliance expectations, and risk posture across all business-facing interactions.
  • Operating Model Development & Process Evolution Continuously refine the CMS/CCL operating model, including RACIs, governance structures, handoffs, communication paths, and role definitions. Partner with cybersecurity engineering, compliance, and DT to streamline workflows and eliminate process friction. Standardize roles, deliverables, and expectations while enabling tailored execution based on business context.
  • Executive Partner to the CISO Serve as a strategic advisor to the CISO, providing synthesized insights on enterprise cyber posture, emerging risks, and cross-domain themes. Support executive-level briefings, audits, board materials, regulatory engagements, and customer interactions. Represent the CISO as needed in governance forums, compliance discussions, and senior leadership touchpoints.
