About The Position

The Director of Custodial Services provides operational leadership for all custodial operations, ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained environments that support the Studio’s employees, clients, guests and business objectives throughout our 110 acre Studio Main lot in Burbank. This role manages a team of 90+ custodians, oversees standards, staffing, budgets, vendor partnerships, and compliance while driving continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency. As a key facilities and operations leader, the Director aligns custodial services with the company’s values of safety, accountability, and excellence, contributing directly to workplace experience, operational readiness, and the organization’s long-term strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in custodial services, facilities operations, or environmental services, including leadership at a managerial or director level.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing large, complex operations with multi-site portfolios, diverse teams, union labor, and significant operating budgets.
  • Strong working knowledge of custodial best practices, sanitation standards, safety regulations, and sustainable cleaning methodologies.
  • Proficiency with facilities management systems, work order systems, workforce planning tools, and data-driven performance reporting to support operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Proven leadership experience directing large-scale custodial or facilities operations, including union and/or contract labor environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational planning, budgeting, workforce management, and performance metrics for custodial services.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, environmental and sanitation compliance).
  • Ability to build and sustain high-performing teams through coaching, training, and clear accountability.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, service-level agreements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align custodial operations to organizational priorities and customer expectations.
