About The Position

This role is responsible for all Individual Segment Banking Consumer Collection and Recovery activities related to Branch Retail, Mortgage, DDA overdrafts, and Small Business Banking for all markets within FNBO. The incumbent will work onsite 100% of the time and will have a dedicated workspace. The position is accountable for one or more related departments and multiple products across multiple banks, combining operational and strategic responsibilities. The ideal candidate will manage collection and charge-off recovery for various banking products, develop departmental business plans, and manage a team of collection staff across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of systems, department, and industry.
  • Experience in managing collection and recovery processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in staff management.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management.

  • Experience with regulatory compliance in banking.
  • Familiarity with technology systems used in collections.
  • Experience in negotiating with realtors or attorneys.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Collection and Charge-off Recovery for all Individual Segment Banking Products including Mortgage Loans, Home Equity Loans, Unsecured Loans, Vehicle Loans, and Small Business Banking.
  • Create and execute collection strategies to improve collection and recovery effectiveness.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, and develop direct reports in Management and Associate roles.
  • Manage budgeting, loss forecasting, unit cost, expense management, and approval processing.
  • Review and sign-off approval of invoices and legal expenses for loans.
  • Negotiate with realtors and customers to resolve short sales or modifications.
  • Conduct property site visits and review values to determine foreclosure options.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships for law firms and collection agencies.
  • Prepare and present monthly results to senior management.
  • Participate in various external and internal regulatory exams.
  • Monitor staff performance and promote changes, identifying improvements.
  • Maintain policies, guidelines, and procedures for all products.
  • Conduct regulatory testing and work with governance and compliance areas.
