Working closely with senior leadership, the team transforms data-driven insights into actionable plans addressing complex business challenges. Focused on innovation and competitive positioning, it leads high-impact projects and explores future opportunities to ensure sustained success. This team plays a key role in influencing strategic decisions, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and providing thought leadership to support Walmart’s evolving business landscape.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in corporate strategy, enterprise planning, or governance within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong process management skills, building and running integrated, enterprise-wide planning and governance processes, including 3–5 year strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to operate as an integrator, aligning stakeholders and driving cohesive outcomes across functions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, structuring ambiguity and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations, including for executive committee priorities.
  • Executive-level communication and influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment without authority while managing multiple priorities with rigor and discretion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area and 7 years’ experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or related area OR 9 years’ experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or related area.

  • Lead the development of integrated, enterprise-wide strategic plans with a 5-year horizon, ensuring alignment across all functions and markets.
  • Govern and sequence the enterprise strategic agenda, structuring decisions, managing trade-offs, and driving clarity on priorities.
  • Respond to high-priority, ad hoc executive questions by navigating ambiguity, sourcing expertise across the organization, and synthesizing insights into clear recommendations.
  • Drive structured problem-solving on complex, cross-functional challenges, leveraging data, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
  • Communicate strategic recommendations through compelling, executive-ready narratives that influence decisions and enable enterprise-wide alignment.
