We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Communications to join our People Function team, partnering closely with the Marketing & Communications organization. This role is located in NYC. In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- 12-15 plus years of proven experience in communication roles, with a focus on internal communication.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
- Proficiency in utilizing various communication tools and platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills across geographies.
- Open communicator who can reach out to multiple stakeholders across hierarchy.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with digital communications tools, trends and best practices.
- Proven track record of being a part of successful communication campaigns in a corporate environment.
- Understanding of financial services industry is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small team to develop communications strategies which support enterprise goals, and the priorities of the People Team (HR), based around clear outcomes, with specific tactics and success metrics.
- Build outstanding written communications including key messages, talking points, FAQs and other collateral.
- Participate in discussions with colleagues to establish a perspective on issues relevant to the reputation of the firm.
- Bring creativity and excellence to your work and inspire the same in other members of the team.
- Bring structure and discipline to all communication programs that originate from the People Team, including driving upward and downward visibility into work in the space and curating a positive employee experience.
- Partner with individuals throughout communications and other organizations within BNY.
