The Director of Deposit Operations at Optum Bank is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the successful launch and continuous optimization of the Bank’s core platform. This position is integral to developing and executing the core operations strategy, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless customer experiences. The Director will oversee all aspects of deposit operations, including direct and indirect management of staff, system administration, and coordination with IT, while playing a key role in the implementation of new banking products and digital initiatives. This role demands a blend of visionary leadership, technical expertise, and effective problem-solving to uphold operational integrity, minimize risk, and foster customer satisfaction. This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week. Role to sit in or near the Twin Cities, MN

  • Lead the build-out and deployment of the Bank’s core operations strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
  • Oversee daily operations of the bank’s core platform and related deposit accounts, managing staff and resources as the team expands
  • Own system administration of the core platform, managing user access and working collaboratively with IT to ensure system security and efficiency
  • Manage and optimize daily transaction flows, including deposit processing within Finxact, ACH, wire transfers, and file exchanges, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve operational processes to maximize efficiency and minimize risk
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to deposit operations
  • Collaborate with other departments to support initiatives such as digital banking enhancements, new product implementations, and customer experience improvements
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for operational processes, controls, and system administration
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize disruption and maintain high service levels
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to deposit operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Manage vendor relationships for core banking systems and related services
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in banking operations, with experience in supervisory or leadership role
  • Demonstrated expertise in core banking platforms (such as Finxact), deposit operations, and transaction processing (ACH, wires, file exchanges)
  • Solid technical acumen, including experience with system administration and user access management
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for deposit operations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive operational improvements
  • Located in or near the Twin Cities, MN
