A role in Construction means being part of a team that brings ideas to life for our guests and team members across the country. As a Director of Construction, you will lead teams that oversee the execution and support of construction projects supporting our Global Supply Chain and Logistics work. Projects include large program rollouts, unique special projects, remodels and large ground-up construction across Target's portfolio of buildings. You'll set deployment strategies that enable projects to finish on time and on budget.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of Construction or Developer experience specifically in project management
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building and leading inclusive, and engaged teams
  • Proven success leading cross functional teams with complex scope
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present across various leaders and stakeholders
  • Enterprise mindset with organizational influence to connect and operate effectively across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in an ambiguous and rapidly changing work environment through curiosity and comfort to test, learn and iterate
  • Continuous learner
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and translate strategy to action
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Preferred experience with construction of industrial or supply chain facilities

Responsibilities

  • Create and adhere to project timelines through effective coordination across partners
  • Create and lead routines that effectively communicate progress across external and internal teams (i.e. suppliers, contractors, store operations leadership, headquarters partners and project teams)
  • Identify and lead strategies that meet quality expectations (i.e. supplier performance, construction documents and specifications), maximize efficiency (i.e. expenses, labor considerations, schedules) and inform expect more, pay less brand options (i.e. total cost of ownership, means and methods)
  • Support construction financial routines: forecasting, cash flow projections, pay applications and audits
  • Develop business justification for product, data or system support
  • Collaborate and foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to achieve project goals
  • Mitigate operational impacts at the site while controlling changes that may be required to meet the Company's objectives
