About The Position

The Director Compliance and Ethics supports the Associate Vice President and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer in leading the university’s compliance and ethics program in accordance with Florida Board of Governors Regulation 4.003, Compliance and Ethics Programs. This role ensures the institution maintains a robust framework for promoting ethical conduct, preventing violations of law and policy, and fostering a culture of integrity across all operations.

Requirements

  • Master's and 6+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Nice To Haves

  • At least a Master's Degree and professional certifications, including a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or similar or equivalent certification.
  • At least 6 years of higher education compliance experience, especially in overseeing investigations and/or compliance reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring the university’s compliance and ethics program consistent with BOG Regulation 4.003.
  • Participate in program governance, including working with the UNF Board of Trustees, institutional leadership, and external partners.
  • Work closely with key institutional partners to promulgate institutional compliance partner program. Compliance partners include: Research Compliance, Environmental Health and Safety, Athletics, Title IX, Clery Act, ADA, Employee Relations, Financial Aid, and Conflicts of Interest.
  • Assist in oversight and management of UNF policy process, including assisting leadership and staff in drafting, reviewing, and updating institutional policies and regulations.
  • Assist in communication efforts both ‘out’ of the program including newsletters and marketing materials, and ‘into’ the program including reports received via email, the Compliance Hotline, or other methods.
  • Oversee compliance monitoring activities, internal compliance reviews, and investigations to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support preparation of Compliance and Ethics annual report for submission to the UNF Board of Trustees and Florida Board of Governors, as required by BOG Regulation 4.003.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to university partners on compliance matters, providing guidance on regulatory changes, best practices, and implementation strategies.
