About The Position

Director, Community Finance - Governance, Risk, & Process Optimization Global External Affairs works with many external and internal stakeholders to envision and create a world of greater socioeconomic opportunity through advocating for an inclusive society, building thriving communities, and creating financial tools that enrich lives. Our teams include Communications, Community Impact and Investment, Community Finance, CRA Strategy and Program Management, the Government and Political Affairs Group, Regulatory Relations, and Strategy and Engagement. Through our teams, we have unparalleled access to a diverse group of motivated changemakers similarly focused on the ingredients for a more perfect future. We focus on innovation and opportunity -- on long term well being for our associates, customers, and communities. We dream in disruption -- at scale -- especially for those who have been underserved. This is the language of changing things for the better, of the future, and…of Capital One. As we continue to build our commitment to our customers and communities, we’d like for you to consider being part of this very special team. The Opportunity and Role: Capital One’s Community Finance (“CF”) team originates debt and equity to support affordable housing development. Community Finance provides debt financing, and invests in low income housing credits through proprietary and multifund equity fund structures. The team is on a journey to reimagine the way it operates through a more strategic approach to its core work and advocacy efforts, next-generation analytical and reporting capabilities, and innovative initiatives that leverage Capital One’s scale and influence. As part of Community Finance, the Governance, Risk, & Process Optimization team will drive sustainable growth by optimizing processes and establish a foundation of proactive risk governance that empowers the business to be faster, leaner, and more resilient. This includes framing and analyzing complex problems, assessing current state, designing target state solutions, developing actionable recommendations, and supporting implementation across the organization. As a Process Management Director on the Governance, Risk, & Process Optimization team, you will be the architect of our "Business Operating System," using advanced analytics to identify inefficiencies, mitigate risks, and design the future-state processes that will scale our organization. Reimagining end to end deal flow and business processes will be a top priority to support growth. You will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders to ensure the technology and processes deliver breakthrough business results and transform the way we meet our clients’ and communities’ needs. Throughout your work, curiosity will be key and rigorous analysis will be the basis of much credibility. This role is for someone who asks questions, eagerly listens, explores the periphery, and lives for the process of generating new ideas. Alongside your eagerness to take on new challenges, you know that solving complex problems often requires the courage to leave no assumption unchecked, no viable idea unexplored, and comfort with the power of data to illuminate both root cause and potential resolution.
