About The Position

The Director of Community Engagement at AbleLight is responsible for fostering strong relationships and collaboration between the organization and local agencies, organizations, and professional groups that support individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing community engagement initiatives that align with AbleLight's mission and values, driving growth and enhancing the lives of those served by the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in establishing mutually beneficial relationships that support the organization's mission.
  • Prior leadership experience across a multi-state, multi-site organization is essential.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships that drive mission growth.
  • Ability to consistently travel within AbleLight's markets and communities based on organizational and stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and lead community engagement strategy and execution efforts that align with the organization's mission.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local agencies, organizations, and professional groups that provide direct support, services, funding, and case management.
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members and key external stakeholders to increase mission growth.
  • Empower teams and promote collaboration with operational, functional, and corporate leaders.
  • Attract and hire talent, and develop the team through coaching and identifying training needs.
  • Recognize and appreciate team contributions, remove barriers to achieve results, and maintain a focus on metrics and data to support business decisions.
