About The Position

The Director, Communications is responsible for overseeing the research, conceptualization, strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing improvement of communications for Christian Care Ministry (CCM) / Medi-Share; as well as a new shared services and innovation entity. This role ensures cohesive external and internal communications that further CCM’s mission and supports diversified product growth, innovation, and market expansion toward becoming a thriving Christ-centered wellness community in select markets.

  • 10+ years’ experience in communications (marketing, PR experience a plus) required, preferably in a healthcare payer industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Journalism/Communication, or other related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ management experience required, preferably in Director role within a similar size organization

  • Experience in launching new products, services, or initiatives strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the communications strategy across CCM, Medi-Share, and the shared services/innovation entity; ensuring alignment with mission and growth objectives
  • Lead strategic communication vision in consultation with internal/external stakeholders to increase alignment and engagement. Support new strategies - product incubation, service diversification, and selective market expansion
  • Develop and grow word-of-mouth referral activity through member communication efforts with the goal of supporting the build-out of organic communities in select markets
  • Oversee brand-aligned positioning, messaging consistency, and execution across internal/external communications
  • Design, write, revise, and publish clear, concise, and effective communications aligned with the strategic goals of organization
  • Use data, research, and analytics to refine segmentation, target messaging, and measure communications engagement and effectiveness
  • Serve as a strategic counsel to the Executive Leadership Team on communications implications of ministry priorities, change management, product launches, crises (in conjunction w/PR), and brand alignment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Development, Channel Partners, Member Services, Government Affairs, Product Development, Operations, and affiliated organizations to coordinate communications
  • Lead and influence internal leadership and external contractors to create clarity and alignment across the organization
  • Be a voice in internal/employee communications and culture—including faith engagement, stewardship messaging, and mission alignment
  • Provide regular reports of KPI performance at meetings, to leadership, and upon request
  • Support Ministry research objectives, as needed, with member-based research
  • Scan, evaluate, and adopt innovation in communications tools, technologies, and channels (e.g., digital platforms, AI, automation)
  • Oversee budget, vendor relationships, performance metrics, and resource allocation
  • Ensure communications are compliant with regulatory, reputational, and ethical standards
  • Contribute to the exercise and expression of the Ministry’s Christian beliefs
  • All other duties as assigned
