About The Position

Position Overview In conjunction with the global/regional business unit strategy, define and deliver the China sales strategy, driving profitable, sustainable topline growth. Managing and overseeing the commercial teams, deliver effective performance outcomes and continued business development growth. Key Responsibilities Define and deliver the China sales strategy, ensuring the strategy is effectively communicated and executed by the commercial teams and achievement is measurable via PPM/KPI outcomes Contribute to product development projects Ensure all business activities are conducted according to the corporate guidelines Financial Manage Country financial performance, setting clear sales targets Optimise margins by reviewing, guiding and optimising pricing Lead the team in setting and achieving budgeted sales and gross margin targets, reporting back to Regional on business unit performance and variances to plan Industry Involvement Maintain appropriate involvement in industry bodies and exhibitions (on behalf of both company and principals) and contribute to the broader development of the Nutrition China Team Reporting Maintain comprehensive analysis of market and competitor activities Analyse and report on market trends, gap analysis and potential cross selling opportunities Oversee regional and local monthly reporting requirements Customer Experience Identify and assist in implementation of process improvement opportunities in conjunction with senior management Non-conformance Management Review Job7’s and follow through to action improvements, addressing areas of sub-optimal performance Manage and report all non-conformances, acting on repetitious non-conformances Identify and implement changes to ensure a measured reduction in non-conformances and overall operation efficiency gains and continuous improvement initiatives are achieved Leadership and Team Lead and manage the commercial team ensuring regional/China expectations are met Lead the recruitment, retention, and development of the team ensuring personal and professional development is undertaken Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of Brenntag through exemplary standard setting and observed behaviours in the areas of performance, leadership, teamwork, and accountability Build an exceptional customer centric culture Actively participate in the annual Performance, Planning & Review Process (PPM), establishing individual KPIs and monitoring performance to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved Take ownership of learning and development opportunities by creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP), strengthening your personal and professional development Perform such other duties and activities which may be assigned to you from time to time

Requirements

  • Strong commercial and business acumen with demonstrated strategic agility
  • Proven functional sales management experience

  • Tertiary qualified in Chemistry or a related field with postgraduate qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 15 + years’ in commercial sales within a chemical or chemical distribution industry (raw ingredients) advantageous
  • Demonstrated managerial experience leading large commercial teams with evidenced sales results and service excellence outcomes
  • Evidenced ability to lead change, improve engagement and deliver results
  • Working knowledge and experience of SAP and MRP systems
