About The Position

Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, manages the overall direction and operation of Commercial Lines Product Management function, collaborating with Commercial Lines leadership to achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPCU Preferred.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight for the Commercial Lines Product Management operations.
  • Collaborates with Profit Centers and Corporate Underwriting to develop the appropriate strategies, goals, and metrics for each individual line of business.
  • Measures performance against established corporate goals.
  • Understands the market and competitive landscape and translates that understanding into sustainable product offerings in the marketplace to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures product compliance with all applicable regulations including facilitating all rule, rate and form product changes, and communicating with regulatory agency representatives.
  • Monitors and evaluates insurance industry product developments and trends; develops and presents recommendations on product modifications or new products.
  • Analyzes and reports to key stakeholders on product performance.
  • Coordinates with the actuarial function on matters such as product pricing, predictive analytics, and technical price.
  • Builds IT business specifications based on product, pricing, underwriting and process changes needed to improve profitability, enhance growth, stay current with ISO and compliance changes, and lead to greater consistency and efficiency.
  • Assists in developing marketing and training materials based on new product introductions.
  • Develops and communicates vision. Develops and recommends strategic and operational plans.
  • Organizes and manages resources to achieve business results. Trains, coaches and leads staff.
  • Oversees and conducts performance management, including performance planning, performance appraisal, and development of subordinates.
  • Recommends and implements employment actions, including employment/termination, corrective action, promotions/demotions, salary changes, etc.
  • Serves as a member of the company management team, representing the Commercial Lines Product Management function in various planning and operational activities.
  • Provides input into functional strategic and operational plans, including product design and development and agency commission structures.
  • Participates on the Corporate Planning Team, contributing to the development of company strategic and operational plans.
  • May serve as a Business or Technical Sponsor on one or more corporate projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
